What this service does

When you submit two URLs, our Cloudflare Pages Function fetches both pages server-side, extracts their visible text, and computes a similarity score. That is the whole pipeline.

What we do not collect

  • No user accounts, no sign-up, no email address, no payment data.
  • No analytics or tracking of your browsing behaviour.
  • No persistent log of the URLs you submit or the results we produce.
  • We never sell or share data about you.

Short-lived, automatic storage

  • The fetched HTML of each target URL may sit in Cloudflare's edge cache for up to 60 seconds so that repeat comparisons do not hammer the target server.
  • A marker for your URL pair (not the HTML) lives in the edge cache for 30 seconds to enforce the per-pair rate limit.
  • Nothing persists beyond those TTLs.

Third parties reached by your request

  • DNS resolver. We resolve each hostname via Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS to prevent SSRF attacks. The hostnames you submit are seen by Cloudflare's public resolver.
  • The target websites. They receive a standard HTTP GET request from a Cloudflare edge IP. Their own access logs will record that visit.
  • Cloudflare. As our hosting provider, Cloudflare processes your HTTP request — including your IP address and user-agent — per its own privacy terms.

Cookies and local storage

  • No tracking cookies.
  • If you click the EN / HU language switcher, we store the key content-similarity-lang in your browser's local storage so the site remembers your choice on the next visit. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site-data settings.

Legal basis (EU / UK)

Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for processing your IP address and submitted URLs during a comparison is legitimate interest (operating and securing the service). We do not use the data for marketing and we do not create user profiles.

Your rights

Because we do not retain personal data, there is generally nothing to access, correct, or delete after your request has completed. For questions regarding this policy, contact ben@amberglass.co.
