Fair Use Policy
Last updated: 24 April 2026
This tool is free for good-faith comparison of two publicly accessible web pages. To keep it fast and available to everyone, please follow the rules below.
Intended uses
- Comparing pages you own or are authorized to evaluate.
- Checking partner, affiliate, or competitor pages for duplicate or verbatim-copied content.
- Academic, journalistic, or research work that needs a quick similarity score with evidence.
Hard technical limits
- Any given pair of URLs can be compared at most once every 30 seconds. A second request during that window returns HTTP 429.
- Each URL fetch is capped at 2 MB, 10 seconds, and must return an HTML content-type.
- Only public
http://andhttps://URLs are accepted. Private, loopback, link-local, and cloud-metadata addresses are blocked at the fetch layer.
Do not
- Automate this tool to scan large lists of URLs. Run your own crawler on your own infrastructure.
- Use it to probe, stress-test, or denial-of-service any site you do not own.
- Circumvent rate limits by rotating IPs, user-agents, or URL parameters.
- Submit URLs whose retrieval would violate applicable law or the target site's terms of service.
About the score
Cosine TF-IDF and Jaccard 5-gram scores are statistical heuristics, not legal proof of plagiarism. A low score is not proof of originality; a high score is not proof of wrongdoing. Use the score as a starting point, then read the shared passages yourself.
Enforcement
Abusive IPs, patterns, or user-agents may be blocked at the Cloudflare edge without notice. This service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We may change these rules at any time.
